Hmmm… Good value huh? A 2009 Hyundai Genesis is just under that 42,600 price tag with better performance (V8), and better warranty. Mr. Taylor’s conclusion should have been Lincoln’s/Fords downfall is more as result of a poor business model.

Ford is unjustly criticized for using shared platforms. The Lincoln Versailes/Ford Granada reference fails to mention the fact that the Seville at that time was built on the Chevy Nova chassis. Lexus vehicles have long been obvious upscale versions of Toyotas built on the same platform. The media just can’t give American car manufacturers a break!

I just can’t agree with your “good value”. $42.6k for a re-skinned Taurus with an over-bored engine that gets poor gas milage. Not exactly exciting.

Until I can get a Lincoln that is substantially different than a Ford and not pay a fortune for the badge, I won’t even be looking.

The Taurus has a 3.5L motor not the 3.7L as noted above.

The MKS has an Exclusive 3.7L motor that Fords don’t get.

The MSK is a BIG car, and gets pretty decent FE for such a large car. And it DOESN’T mandate premium fuel. That is better than 1mpg more from an expense stand point.
